Here’s a rundown of tips and treasures that await the budget-minded bargain hunter. GO MID-WEEK As one of America’s premier vacation destinations, it’s no surprise that weekends are when the town really kicks into overdrive. That includes pricing for things from room rates to casino tables. More and more visitors are finding that their dollar goes further mid-week, typically Monday through Thursday. GET AROUND FOR LESS There’s a lot of ground to cover as you make your way from one end of the Strip to the other. One way to get across town quickly and affordably is the Las Vegas Monorail. Seven stops provide either direct access or close proximity to a number of resorts. Quite possibly the most inexpensive way to sightsee is the double-decker Las Vegas Deuce bus. It runs 24 hours a day, the stops are convenient and frequent, and it offers passes ranging from two hours to three days. BUFFET MADNESS Vegas’ variety of buffets is the stuff of legend, with the brunch buffet being the perfect meal to score for two meals in one. For those looking to get the most bang for the buck, Caesars Entertainment offers a Buffet of Buffets 24-hour pass that allows guests to enjoy the buffets at almost all of their properties. These include Bally’s, Caesars Palace, The Flamingo, Harrah’s, Paris, Planet Hollywood, and The LINQ, and only costs $59.99 plus tax during the week. Tip: Buy the pass and start with a late dinner. Then, wake up the next morning and enjoy an entire day of fantastic buffet meals ending with an earlier dinner (that’s two dinners in 24 hours). VEGAS-ONLY FOOD FINDS Las Vegas is a great town for food specials, some that aren’t necessarily on the menu. Start your day at The Sterling Spoon Café inside the Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino. Their $2.21 Deuces Wild breakfast features eggs, bacon or sausage and pancakes. For delicious wallet-friendly slices, seek out Secret Pizza at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. Head to the third floor and take a left down the hallway next to Jaleo. Oyster lovers can fill up during Happy Hour at Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House inside the MGM Grand at only $1.50 each. Mr. Lucky’s at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino still offers their $7.77 steak and shrimp dinner 24 hours a day. If you’re headed Downtown, make sure to grab the $3.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino. It’s one of the best deals in town. OFF-STRIP ATTRACTION One of Las Vegas’ premier attractions is The Springs Preserve. With multimedia and multiple themed museum experiences showcasing natural and cultural exhibits, including live animal demonstrations and special events, there is no better family experience in town. Individual tickets run around $19, and they offer a spectacular annual pass starting at $25. If you visit Vegas more than once a year with family, it’s a great deal. WELCOME TO LAS VEGAS SIGN – You have to take a selfie at least once at this well-known Vegas landmark. THE AQUARIUM AT THE SILVERTON HOTEL is where mermaid performers showcase aquatic grace in multiple shows Thursday through Sunday. The PALAZZO WATERFALL ATRIUM features two stories, a domed skylight and exotic flowers. The FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE displays an ever-changing, always-dazzling Viva Vision Light Show featuring musical and visual themes and running every hour beginning at dusk and ending at midnight.
