THOROUGHBRED THRILLS

Where Grace Meets Might and Speed

Horses. They make the earth move. Stand next to the track and you’ll feel it. The earth quakes beneath you as they thunder by. It takes your breath away. Whether rounding the bend or peacefully grazing, one thing is certain in Kentucky – the horse will move you, too.

Come Closer

A thousand pounds of muscle. The feathery softness of its muzzle. Stately and rugged. Refined and playful. Still and lightning fast. Ah, the paradoxes of the horse. You’ll be awestruck by its presence. Under its spell. It lifts its head over the fence and you have to touch it … stroke an ear, its neck and definitely the delicate patch of skin on its lip that twitches and seems to so clearly ask, “Do you have carrots?” They’ll become fast friends, so don’t forget the carrots.

And You’re Off …

Don your finest hat and experience the tradition that is Kentucky horseracing. Churchill Downs. The Kentucky Derby. Keeneland. You’ll be swept away by a sea of kaleidoscopic silks and caught up in an indescribable energy. That voice screaming, “Go!” Yes, it’s your own.

Other times, seek the slow and steady; a soft gait on a quiet path. Horses take you there, too. You’d be surprised how calm the world can seem when you’re mounted high upon its back. The horse transcends. Sometimes, you just need to let them lead you.
