POPO AGIE FALLS TRAIL Take in absolutely stunning views of Middle Fork Falls, where the Popo Agie River cascades over large outcroppings into Sinks Canyon on an easy 3-mile, round-trip route in Sinks Canyon State Park near Lander. Find the trailhead at Bruce’s Picnicking Area. BRIDLE TRAIL This steep 4.5-mile loop begins at the base of Garden Creek Falls in Rotary Park near Casper and leads to breathtaking vistas of the town and dense evergreen forests. Sightings of sage grouse, deer and pronghorn are common. GO BACKPACKING. ROCK CREEK TRAIL Trek through the heart of Medicine Bow National Forest on this 11-mile out-and-back. Highlights include a rushing waterfall and an optional side trip to Crater Lake — a stunning blue-green gem ringed with evergreens. Find the northern trailhead outside of Arlington. TITCOMB BASIN Titcomb Basin features kaleidoscopic wildflowers and sights of the jagged Wind River Range. The nearly 30-mile, out-and-back route encompasses the Seneca Lake, Indian Pass and Pole Creek trails; start your trip at the Elkhart Park Trailhead near Pinedale. EXPLORE ON A BIKE. WILKINS PEAK TRAIL SYSTEM Trail names like Quick Draw and Better Than Dead evoke wicked Wild West lore, and so does the rugged terrain at this trail network near the town of Green River. Cyclists’ hard work is rewarded with vistas of southwest Wyoming’s Flaming Gorge country. CURT GOWDY STATE PARK Situated between Cheyenne and Laramie, Curt Gowdy State Park is crisscrossed with 30 miles of diverse mountain-bike trails, but one towers above them all: El Alto ascends steep granite boulders and black-diamond terrain before reaching the park’s highest point.
