Happy adventuring! 1 Scenic Highway 30A: Unfolding along Northwest Florida’s spectacular Gulf coast, this highway features soft white-sand beaches fringed with emerald waters. Walk or ride a bike along trails that connect state parks and preserves. 2 A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway: This byway stretches south of Jacksonville Beach to the golf mecca of Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Augustine (America’s oldest city), and relaxed Flagler Beach. Explore national monuments, beautiful beaches, and nature trails. 3 Halifax Heritage Byway: Volusia County’s beach towns are the highlight of this newest Florida Scenic Byway. Discover the nearly 300 years of history and heritage found in this region named for the Halifax River. 4 Palma Sola Scenic Highway: Along this four-mile byway, which connects the mainland with Anna Maria Island, kayak among mangroves in Robinson Preserve, ride horseback in Palma Sola Bay, and enjoy a meal with your feet in the sand at Manatee Public Beach. 5 Lemon Bay/Myakka Trail Scenic Highway: Stop in the small shops and cafés of the Olde Englewood Village Historic District, hike or bike in Myakka State Forest, and wander around barrier islands to find quaint towns and magnificent beaches. To pay the tolls, you can purchase a SunPass (available at SunPass.com, the Florida Welcome Centers, and many retailers, including Publix, CVS, and Walgreens) or pay via toll-by-plate. CERTIFIED Visitor Information Centers At Official Florida Welcome Centers, visitors have access to Certified Information Specialists, maps, brochures, and a variety of amenities. In addition, VISIT FLORIDA also offers more than 50 Certified Visitor Information Centers around the state They’re indicated on the map with a purple star icon ( ). These facilities must meet certain requirements, such as having a convenient location, providing accessible parking and restrooms, and operating at least five days a week year-round.
