After you cross the Missouri River, put the corn-faced edifices of Mitchell in the rear-view, pass the silhouette of “Dignity” in the distance and begin to draw closer to the town of Murdo, the landscape will begin to morph and change before your eyes. THE BADLANDS Over the flat plains, the rolling, textured landscape of the Badlands comes into view.
