CONCERTS AND CASINOS Visit the historic Fargo Theatre for well-known bands and comedians. Local and visiting musicians tour on stages in bars, breweries, coffee shops, street fairs and park bandshells throughout the state. Big-name concerts hit the stage at the North Dakota State Fair and Norsk Høstfest in Minot, Red River Valley Fair in West Fargo, Fargo Blues Festival in Fargo and ND Country Fest in New Salem. You’ll also find entertainment — as well as high stakes gaming — at Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel near Hankinson, Prairie Knights Casino and Resort south of Mandan, Spirit Lake Casino near Devils Lake, Sky Dancer Casino near Belcourt, Grand Treasure Casino in Trenton and 4 Bears Casino and Lodge in New Town. SPORTS ACTION Head to the ballpark to watch the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks professional baseball team, or college summer league teams like the Bismarck Larks, the Badlands Big Sticks in Dickinson and the Hot Tots in Minot. Or watch juniors hockey in Minot, Bismarck and Fargo. Our two largest universities — the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks in Grand Forks and the North Dakota State University Bison in Fargo — compete in NCAA Division I basketball, FCS football, volleyball, track and more. UND hockey and NDSU football have long, proud traditions of winning national championships. Sports are also popular at many smaller colleges throughout the state.
