ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS
A favorite walk in downtown Rapid City is through Art Alley, a dynamic display of ever-changing street art located between 6th and 7th Streets in downtown Rapid City. Part of the alley’s particular charm, apart from the high-caliber, rotating street art, is that it is a project born of cooperation between the community and its artists.
CITY OF PRESIDENTS
Encounter history with a tour along the City of Presidents. Bronze statues of the nation’s leaders grace the sidewalks. Take a self-guided tour to learn the history of each former president and pose for fun photos along the way. A brochure can be found at the Rapid City Visitor Center.
CULINARY ADVENTURES
A lineup of cuisine is available in downtown Rapid City. From local coffee roasters and bakeries to sweet treats and restaurants that range from casual to fine dining, there is something to suit everyone’s taste.
Local breweries and wineries also provide a tasting of regional spirits.
HEART OF THE CITY
Main Street Square is the hub of action. Throughout the year, seasonal festivals, live music, movie nights under the sky, and other special events are held, uniting community members and visitors.
Kids can beat the heat at the interactive splash patio and sculptures grace the sidewalks near the square.
The square is in a convenient spot, near restaurants, coffee and ice cream shops, and boutiques. Tables are also available to enjoy lunch or relax.
In the winter, the square is transformed into an ice skating rink.
