North Dakota’s art scene is a vibrant and diverse reflection of the state’s rich culture and creative spirit. Contemporary, traditional Native American and local artwork are always on display across the state. The mix of art museums, downtown galleries and outdoor exhibits give Art Alley, Bismarck visitors many options to experience art firsthand within our communities.
PLAINS ART MUSEUM, FARGO
An accredited fine art museum in the heart of historic downtown Fargo. Its permanent collection contains approximately 4,000 works, including national, international and regional fine art. See the North Dakota Mural by world-renowned artist and North Dakota native James Rosenquist.
NORTH DAKOTA MUSEUM OF ART, GRAND FORKS
The official art museum of North Dakota. Its three galleries house exhibitions of contemporary regional, national and international art. Collections include the visual history of the region and contemporary Native American art.

See rotating exhibits by featured artists at Taube Museum of Art or find your muse at Artspace Suite 1 Gallery, a collective of local artists dedicated to creating professional art and presenting art to the community.

Visit the Art Alley murals, Bismarck Art and Galleries Association, The Capital Gallery and ND Council on the Arts’ State Arts Collection. Visitors can explore everything from fine art to handmade crafts in a walkable welcoming downtown area.
