  1. The International Spy Museum offers real and fictional espionage tales and experiences, from WWII code-cracking machines to an exhibit on James Bond’s villains. Operation Spy is an intense one-hour mission for ages 12 and older.

  2. The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History features a Butterfly Pavilion full of live butterflies and exotic plants. The Sant Ocean Hall sports 674 marine specimens and models. High-definition videos explore our oceans’ depths.

  3. The National Building Museum features interactive experiences including The Building Zone, where kids ages 2 through 6 can build towers and drive bulldozers.

  4. Newseum lets young on-air journalists show their skills inside the NBC News Interactive Newsroom. Families will also love America’s first dogs at the First Dogs: American Presidents and Their Pets exhibit. Free entry for kids 6 and under.

  5. Wegmans Wonderplace at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History provides interactive experiences designed for kids 6 and under, from a child-sized kitchen to a tugboat model.
