AUSTIN ICE CREAM FESTIVAL Fiesta Gardens, The annual Austin Ice Cream Festival is fun for the whole family. AUSTIN PRIDE FESTIVAL & PARADE Fiesta Gardens, The largest annual LGBTQ advocacy and fundraising event in Central Texas takes place during Pride Week. BAT FEST Congress Avenue Bridge, Celebrate this batty event as the world’s largest urban bat colony (1.5 million Mexican Free Tail Bats which take up seasonal residence beneath the Ann Richard’s Congress Avenue Bridge) take to the skies for their nightly flight. Enjoy live music, children activities and costume contest. WEST AUSTIN STUDIO TOUR Across West Austin, The West Austin Studio Tour is a free, self-guided tour that celebrates Austin’s talented and wildly diverse creative community. CENTRAL TEXAS JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION MLK Blvd. and other locations, Juneteenth, also known as “Freedom Day” or “Emancipation Day,” is the oldest known African American celebration commemorating the end of slavery. SEPTEMBER 2017 AUSTIN MUSEUM DAY Across Austin, Organized by the Austin Museum Partnership, this special day features free exhibitions and activities at participating Austin-area museums and cultural sites. REPUBLIC OF TEXAS BIKER RALLY Travis County Exposition Center and Congress Avenue, The state’s largest motorcycle gathering attracts thousands of bikers for rides, a parade and music. FREE DAY OF YOGA Across Austin, All day long, participating studios across the Austin area offer free classes as an opportunity for every age and fitness level. LIFE TIME TRI CAPTEX Lady Bird Lake, Downtown Austin, The “Premier Texas Triathlon” is now part of the Life Time Triathlon Series and fills the streets of Austin on Memorial Day, selling out with 3,000 participants. TRI-ROCK AUSTIN TRIATHLON LEVITATION FESTIVAL Carson Creek Ranch, Mark your calendars, Levitation Festival (formerly Austin Psych Fest) will return with on-site camping and three stages of music. The main stage and river stage will feature psychedelic light shows in the evening, and a tent stage featuring psychedelic light shows all day long. Auditorium Shores, The urban setting provides a swim start at the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue, a swim course in Lady Bird Lake, a bike course over the Congress Avenue Bridge and a run along Auditorium Shores.
