Emmer & Rye THE DISH: HOT DINING DESTINATIONS Austin’s dining scene has always been blazing hot, and it’s not cooling off any time soon. R&R REDUX: NEW HOTELS The 10-story, dual branded property on Ninth and Red River streets is home to both Hotel Indigo Austin Downtown – University and Holiday Inn Express – Downtown/University Medical, offering visitors two distinct lodging options in the heart of Downtown. Hotel Indigo Austin Downtown-University In 2017, Starwood Aloft and Element Hotels will open a 32-story upscale hotel, and luxury boutique brand Hotel ZaZa, which has other locations in Dallas and Houston, will add an Austin outpost to its property list. Austin Proper will house a unique mix of both residences and hotel rooms. Fairmont Austin will debut its 37-story environmentally friendly hotel overlooking Lady Bird Lake and the State Capitol. FRESH AIR FUN:GET OUTDOORS Austin’s first and only cable wake park, Next Level Ride, opened in 2015. Hit this action sports destination for a day of wakeboarding or wake-skating.
